The “Platform for 10” is a online learning platform for “Standard 10” students from Myanmar. Due to the shortage of economic resources we are creating this site be able to access the lessons through online. Recently online networking (data and wifi) had repetitively develop at Myanmar. As a result of that majorities of citizens are using online through mobile network.
This project campaign start on October 2018 at Vrije University Brussels, support by
VUB Chair of Social Entrepreneurship. Early project developed was September 2017.
Introduction
Myanmar (Burma) is one of the developing countries on the mainland of Southeast Asia. In 2018, Around 36.8% lives in urban area from total population of around 54 Million.
Average student pass rates are 33% (217,762 students) in 5 years (2014-2018). Each year, nearly 9 million youth do not attend school. One in five young people ages 10 to 17 go to work instead of school. Because of poverty and inaccessible to education resource such as school and teachers.
For those youth people need to get access to education. For those students who are living in rural and country side areas need to get access to quality education. For those who are from low income family need to get access to equity education.
